Facebook is still the biggest and most used social media platform, and because of that, a lot of people have plenty of photos and videos stored on their accounts. Most of us generally use Facebook for the personal reason rather than professional. We do care about small details while sharing on social media. We share our memories and photos and videos that we like with the people we love and care. But in certain point while browsing old photo we realizing our gallery is filled with lots of photos and feel insecure or we want to save those photos somewhere else where it is easily accessible or we feel more comfort. We don’t want to lose those memories at any cost.
It’s difficult to move our photos and videos from one social network to another. But now, Facebook and Google have made it possible and simple to transfer our Facebook photos and videos to Google Photos. This is the first fruit of an open-source project called the Data Transfer Project, to make it easier to trade photos and other data among the top companies like Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and Twitter platforms. You can transfer a copy of your photo and videos through any devices like mobile, laptop, desktop and any other device or operating system.
But one important point is that by default, any Google account comes with only 15GB of storage. So it means if your photos and videos exceed this limit you will not be able to transfer all our photos and videos to the google photos. But there is an option to upgrade your google account if you need more, you can get 100GB for $1.99 a month or $19.99 a year, 200GB for $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year, or 2TB for $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year.
Google Photos can store images with up to 16-megapixel resolution for now. It also comes with a built-in photo organizer and editor tools as well.
Now let’s transfer our Facebook photos and videos to google photos. The following steps explain how to transfer our Facebook photos and videos to google photos.
Step 1. Login to the Facebook and go to the setting and privacy by clicking the top right arrow.
step 2. Then click settings and you will be redirected to the next page. In the right side click “Your Facebook information”. In the right side you can see various options.
Step 3. Now click “transfer a copy of your photos or videos”. You will be asked to type your Facebook password. After you entered your password you will be redirected to the next step where you can see the choose destination. Click the button and you will see google photo.
Step 4. Now you will have to choose whether to transfer the photos or videos. You can only transfer one (Photos or videos) at a time. After choosing the option click next and again click confirm transfer.
Step 5. You must then log in to Gmail and give Facebook permission to add to your Google Photo library. Lastly, when you click Confirm Transfer, and the transfer is on its way.
The transfer process isn’t fast. Depending upon your photos or videos it may take about an hour or even more. After the transfer is completed, you’ll receive an notification from Facebook notifying the process is completed.
You are done. To view the transferred images or videos from Facebook to google photos go to google photos and you will see all your photos and or videos transferred with the same album name as in the Facebook like profile photos, timeline photos, mobile uploads, cover photos and other albums like your created in Facebook.
